Conversations with Other Women!! Almost made my top 10, this is like # 10 1/2. Watch the special features too, I watched everything but the Commentary which I would have loved to have seen too but it was already midnight. One of the special features is called “Made on a Mac” A lot of that was a little too technical for me but I bet those of you in video production would understand all of it. Even though I didn’t understand it all it was still fascinating. Anyway it’s a tiny little film I was attracted to it because it stars Aaron Eckhart and Helena Bonham Carter. It’s basically a two character piece shot entirely in split screen, sounds like a gimmick but it really works takes you about 5 minutes maybe to get used to what they are doing. Then once you are used to it rather than being some flashy technique that distances you from what’s happening on screen it draws you more deeply into the film. One of those rare films where you feel they did something unique and made at work.
